With over 70 years of combined experience, our Vacuum Deposition (thin-film) Department provides premier thin-film coating design and production services. MXL offers the following capabilities in this area:
- Thin film design to meet stringent performance specifications
- Narrow band filters for laser eye protection and heads-up displays (single or multiple wavelengths)
- Wide spectrum anti-reflective coatings
- Decorative metallization coatings (Gold, chrome, etc.)
MXL performs thin film application utilizing two Denton 42-inch box coaters that achieve chamber pressures down to 1 x 10-6 Torr. MXL employs real-time optical monitoring and state-of-the-art spectrophotometry to ensure the quantity and quality of the coatings we apply. We also design and manufacture custom fixturing for each product to maximize quality and throughput.
